Pindarica conceived and executed the #myengine initiative for Kohler Engines, which encompassed multiple elements: a photography contest, a challenge to visual artists, an exhibition within the 2015 Fotografia Europea Off Circuit, and, most importantly, a moment of engagement and sharing between a company deeply rooted in Reggio Emilia and the city itself. Through social media (Facebook and Instagram), people submitted photos of their “engine,” symbolizing their source of energy. The most compelling images were displayed in the stunning setting of Hotel Posta.
During the exhibition’s opening night, the works of Pietro Anceschi and Giacomo Cossio were unveiled, transforming a physical engine, a technical masterpiece, into genuine works of art. The initiative exceeded all expectations within a month and a half: nearly 300 photos were submitted; 5,000 new likes were gained on the fan page (from 35,000 to 40,000); 85,000 people were reached via newsletters; thousands of curious visitors attended the exhibition; and there were two television features and numerous articles in local publications. This is our engine.
